  • As the name suggests this procedure involves the removal of excess breast tissue, fat, and skin to reduce the size of the breasts.
  • Patients that choose to undergo this type of breast surgery often do so to alleviate physical discomfort.
  • Heavy breasts can be debilitating.
    • They can cause neck, back and shoulder pain, as well as, posture issues and shoulder dips (from bra straps digging into shoulders as a result of the excessive weight).

Implant Removal

  • This procedure involves the removal of existing breast implants from a previous breast augmentation procedure.
  • Patients may choose to undergo a Breast implant removal for either health reasons, personal preference, or a desire to return to a natural breast size.

Fat Transfer

This procedure involves the removal of fat from one area of the body using liposuction and the injection of the purified fat into the breasts to increase their size and fullness.

Gynecomastia

  • Gynecomastia is another term for male breast reduction.
  • This procedure involves the removal of excess breast tissue to create a more masculine chest contour.

Inverted Nipple Correction

  • This procedure involves the correction of inverted or flat nipples.

  • Inverted nipple correction surgery involves the release of the underlying milk ducts and repositioning of the nipple to a more natural position.

Your Breast Surgery Journey – Tips

  1. Research and educate yourself about the different types of breast surgery available, including; breast augmentation, breast lift, breast reduction, breast implant removal, fat transfer, and gynecomastia. Consider your goals and expectations for the procedure and make a list of any questions you have for the surgeon.

  7. Stay in contact with the surgeon and their staff if you have any questions or concerns during your recovery period.
